Hi, I am Julie Ann. First and foremost I am a music lover. Over the years have been lucky enough to turn my passion into a career. I dabble as a singer/songwriter and was the vocalist in a local band from Melton Mowbray, Welby lane. I wrote all the lyrics and formalised our rehearsal jams into songs. Our influences were mainly folk/AOR/Rock and my own personal favourite, blues. We were lucky enough to be able to gig our own material along with a few classic covers and actually got paid for having fun! I was also the lead singer in a Nottingham based band Wishfulthinkers. Being in the band led me to my partner of 4 years, an extremely talented vocalist/guitarist/songwriter. I have put a few of our collaborations on the site, and I hope you enjoy listening to them! His cleverness extends to his production knowledge for which I am very grateful
I have also worked with a number of accoustic guitarists and have performed solo.
In my more formal life, I was trained as a Yamaha Music School tutor, where I specialised in teaching the YMS course, where I taught mainly teenagers and adult. I remained a YMS tutor for 10 years at a very successful school in the West Midlands. Along with another tutor, we developed the school by increasing the student intake at such a rate, we needed to employ another 5 staff. The school became the 2nd most attended Yamaha School in the country, which is an achievement of which I am very proud.
We were chosen to represent Yamaha in their 100th school opening celebrations where we taught Radio 1 DJ'S along with our own students, which was a fantastic experience.
Since then over a number of years I have worked in Schools across the Leicestershire area giving workshops, teaching in small groups and also one to one private tution
